Characteristics of Passive Films Formed on As-Cast Ti–6Al-4V in Hank’s Solution Before and After Transpassivation

In this work, the characteristics of passive films formed on as-cast Ti-6Al-4V before and after transpassivation by electrochemical methods will be studied. A simulated body fluid Hank’s solution was used as electrolyte in work. According to potentiodynamic polarization test, passivation range, transpassive repassivation range were obtained. Afterward, potentiostatic employed passivate both ranges. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analyze films. Meanwhile, growth rate film also greater Although shows a higher charge transfer metastable pitting corrosion observed, indicating formation unstable film. Such results advance understanding polarized under different potentials for potential biomedical applications.
